About Cimavision Inc.
I’m an experienced Director of Photography working in motion picture production since 1993. This includes live television sports news magazines, documentary, commercial and feature films. My production education includes course work at the University of Wisconsin Madison, UCLA, The International Workshops for Film and Video and The Santa Fe High Definition Workshops. I later taught at the Santa Fe High Definition Workshops.
I founded Cimavision in 1995, a small production company specializing in lighting, camera, and audio services for motion pictures. Cimavision Inc. was an early adopter of the Sony HD CAM format and in 2002 invested heavily in High Definition equipment both for acquisition and post-production. Cimavision Inc. owns offices as well as a 1,650 square foot sound studio in the in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.
I’ve carefully tailored my grip/electric package to complement my Sony F 900 /3 camera package as well as my lighting aesthetic. In addition to the large truck, I have a smaller cube truck to support the large truck or for those productions where a smaller, lighter footprint is more appropriate.
While primarily working in the Southern California area, I have worked throughout the US and Western Hemisphere. I have consulted on High Definition acquisition and post-production issues for independent producers as well as major networks. My comprehensive approach to the entire work flow of High Definition from acquisition to film, tape, DVD, or terrestrial broadcast has succeeded in saving producers tens of thousands of dollars in avoidable production and post production costs. My greatest passion is proving the case for High Definition production by providing for my client a high-end filmic image for way less then they believed possible.
